Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is of much current interest, with the availability and increasing use of the vaccines in different localities including Hong Kong. In this issue of the Topical Update, Prof. Paul Chan shares the local epidemiology of cervical HPV infection, in aid of formulating strategies to maximize the clinical benefits and cost-effectiveness of HPV-based diagnostic tests and vaccines.
